Mindfulness With Feeling Tones – Guided Meditation

In this guided meditation, Matthew leads the practitioner through mindfulness of feeling tones as part of Bhikkhu Analayo’s method of Satipatthana practice.

In this guided meditation, Matthew leads the practitioner through mindfulness of feeling tones as part of Bhikkhu Analayo’s method of Satipatthana practice. The meditation begins with establishing embodied mindfulness and then moves into contemplation of feeling tones using body scans.

In Bhikkhu Analayo’s method, the four foundations of mindfulness – body, feelings, mind, & dharmas – are consolidated into seven primary contemplations that constitute the “Wheel Of Satipatthana”. This guided meditation is Matthew’s interpretation of the fourth of the seven: mindfulness of the feelings, known as vedana in Pali.

If you are entirely new to the practice, want to start at the very beginning, or would like to practice with just embodied mindfulness, begin with this meditation: Grounding.

If you want to practice with the first of the seven contemplations in the Wheel of Satipatthana – mindfulness with anatomy, go to this meditation: Anatomy.

If you want to practice with the second of the seven contemplations in the Wheel of Satipatthana – mindfulness with elements, go to this meditation: Elements.

If you want to practice with the third of the seven contemplation in the Wheel of Satipatthana – mindfulness with death, go to this meditation: Death.

The feeling tone meditation can be streamed on YouTube or the Insight Timer app.
