Matthew started practicing mindfulness while incarcerated at Folsom State Prison, where his journey of personal growth began in the most trying of circumstances. As a recovering addict, skilled tradesman, elected union official, and formerly incarcerated person, his unique life experiences are woven into his presentation of the Dharma and the way that it can transform lives.

Matthew is program facilitator for the Mindful Prisons Program and is a Dharma Leader trainee at the Insight Meditation Center and Spirit Rock.
